Congress Party Condemns The Pulwama Attack: Surjewala

The All India Congress party and entire Congress family condemn the Pulwama terror attack in strongest words. The cowardly attack on our brave CRPF soldiers at Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama region, where a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a CRPF convoy has martyred more than 40 soldiers and left several injured leaving the nation shocked and grief stricken. This is by far the deadliest terrorist attacks on our soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir. We pay our tributes to the martyrs and offer our deepest condolences to their families. We pray that the injured soldiers return back to the best of their health at the earliest.

“Under the Narendra Modi government this is the 17th big terrorist attack, Pompore, Uri, Pathankot, Gurudaspur, Amarnath Yatra attack and many more. India is facing unprovoked terror attacks from Pak-sponsored terrorists yet unfortunately, the Prime Minister have more faith in the dreaded ISI which is the benefactor protector and harbinger of terrorism, whom he invited to investigate Pathankot airbase attack. Modiji the nation wants to know, why do you continue to compromise on national security? When would the 56″ chest really come forward to defend our Jawans?” Congress Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said today addressing the press.

Congress General Secretary for Eastern UP, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was scheduled to address her first press conference today at Lucknow, however after the tragic news came in, she informed the member of the press that “in wake of the unfortunate #PulwamaAttack, I don’t think it is appropriate to talk politics right now.” After that she requested all to observe two minutes silence in memory of the martyrs.

This is not the time for politics, but as ordinary citizens we must ask the honorable Prime Minister, why the situation in Jammu and Kashmir worsened in his tenure? Why more youth have joined ranks? According to reports, “number of security personnel killed in terrorist violence has increased 72% from 111 in the last three years of UPA-II to 191 in the BJP’s first three years.” What concrete steps have been taken in five years to strengthen our forces? It is more unfortunate that Defence Minister Nirmala Seetharaman said there has been no terror attack in Modi’s tenure.

We strongly condemn the ghastly attack, we stand with the government in taking action, but we must ask these questions.
