Rahul Gandhi Promises Amplifier to Voice Fishermen’s Concerns, Separate Fishermen Ministry If Voted To Power

The All India Fishermen Parliament was held today at Thriprayar, Thrissur Kerala addressed by Congress President Rahul Gandhi. The event was attended by members of All India Fishermen Congress from various parts of India including Lakshwadeep, Odisha among others. They shared their grievances from the current regime and expectations from the Congress party and Sh Gandhi. The CP listened to each member with patience and promised to take up their issue in whichever way he can.

Talking about their contributions to the society Sh Gandhi said, “The fishermen risk their lives to save people whenever there are dangers in the seas be it a cyclone or other calamities. But when your own lives are in danger, you are left alone. Big trollers come and take what is yours. The Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Notification passed by Union government has added to your problems. What the solution to this? I don’t believe in small solutions, I want to give you permanent solution. An amplifier so that your voice can be heard in Delhi whenever you are in problem, and that is your own ministry in Delhi.

With those words, the CP announced the setting up of a new Fishermen Ministry if the Congress is voted to power in the Lok Sabha elections. He further added “Unlike Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I don’t make false promises. If you hear my speeches, you would know, if I say something I fulfill it. So this promise would be delivered. The fishermen ministry would be a non-violent weapon in the hands of the fishermen community to tackle the issues of Sri Lankan Navy, big troller, CRZ,” said Sh Gandhi.

The Congress party has always been committed to the upliftment of those standing last in line, those who are left behind, who are weak and unable to compete. In contrast the current regime is only focused on the rich and privileged, making them richer. With more such announcement, the Congress President is making his Lok Sabha elections campaign more and more strong. Half of India’s youth probably didn’t even know that there is such a thing as All India Fishermen Congress or that this community needs attention. But it is the socialist values of the Congress party that aims to include every section of the society into the development model.
